Created during an artist residency at Château d’Orquevaux in France, Between Opening and Keeping explores the quiet ways objects hold memory.

Cabinets, locks, slippers, vessels, and other everyday objects become thresholds between what we reveal and what we preserve—between places we have left and those we learn to call home. Drawing from Chinese, French, and American influences, the collection considers the in-between not as a place of uncertainty, but as a place where new forms of belonging can emerge.

Working across watercolor, gouache, and pastel on hand crafter paper from India, I treat these familiar objects as living archives: small keepers of family history, cultural inheritance, and the rituals that travel with us.
